Day 1. Young Island Cut to Admiralty Bay Bequia

After a comprehensive chart and yacht briefing at Young Island cut St. Vincent, near to the airport, set sail for a short 2-hour crossing to Bequia. Bequia is your first overnight stop on your one week St Vincent sailing itinerary. Bequia is excellent for provisioning – the local fruit and veg market is a great experience. The island also has a wide selection of restaurants with local or international cuisine. For the active, there are some excellent hikes, or if more leisurely just wander around Port Elizabeth and soak up the laid-back atmosphere.

Day 2. Admiralty Bay to Britannia Bay Mustique

After breakfast and a swim, it’s time to head to Mustique. Although the island’s reputation as a holiday home for the rich and famous, the island remains quiet and un-spoilt with lovely walks and beautiful beaches. You can tour the island by foot, electric taxi or on horseback. In January each year is the Blues Festival centered at Basil’s Bar – you may never know which star you might meet.

Day 3. Britannia Bay to Tobago Cays

Sail to the beautiful Tobago Cays, one of the world’s most breathtaking anchorages. The anchorage is protected by an enormous horseshoe reef which also provides amazing snorkeling. You can swim with the turtles that feed around the five islands that make up the Cays or explore ashore with the nearly tame iguanas and tortoises. There are no restaurants in the Tobago Cays – so the best option is to light up the BBQ and dine under the stars.

Day 4. Tobago Cays to Saline Bay Mayreau

A short sail to Mayreau in the morning and another fascinating island to explore during your one week St Vincent sailing itinerary. Hike to the top of Mayreau and enjoy the magnificent view over the Tobago Cays. A walk from Saline Bay along the salt pond brings you to some pristine beaches. Anchor in either Saline or Salt Whistle Bay, a perfect half moon palm-fringed bay. Amongst the palm trees is Salt Whistle Bay Resort where you can dine flintstone style on stone tables under a palm-thatched canopy.

Day 5. Saline Bay to Petit St.Vincent

After a leisurely breakfast head to Clifton Harbor, Union Island to clear out. After clearing, sail on to Petit St Vincent for the night. Anchor off PSV Resort, dine exclusively at the resort or arrange a water taxi for excellent local food at Palm Beach Restaurant on Petite Martinique. Top off with water and fuel if required on Petite Martinique.

Day 6. Petit St. Vincent to Hillsborough, Carriacou

A downwind 1.5-hour sail to Carriacou anchoring off Hillsborough to clear into Grenada before moving onto a mooring at beautiful Sandy Island. Spend the afternoon snorkeling and walking the beach and either overnight here or motor the short distance round to Tyrrel Bay where you will find local restaurants and bars. It’s worth spending the time to explore Carriacou, another incredibly laid-back island of 1 gas station and 200 rum shops!

Day 7. Hillsborough to Prickly Bay

An exhilarating day’s sail from Carriacou to Grenada; depending on conditions and your experience will dictate if you opt for the east or more sheltered west coast of Grenada, on the way, pass the spectacular Kick ‘em Jenny rock and remote Isle De Ronde where it is possible to stop for a brief swim and a snorkel if time permits. Prickly Bay is your destination, a popular anchorage on the south coast with bars and restaurants close by but there are plenty of alternatives.

Day 8. Prickly Bay to True Blue Bay

Sail to True Blue Bay for a noon finish. La Grande Bellezza’s crew will be available to assist you whether you are departing the island or staying for a few days. Grenada is a spectacular island that offers excellent diving, island tours to old plantations, rain forest hikes, and stunning beaches.  A great way to finish your Grenada Sailing Itinerary!
